Publishing with approval: nothing goes live without a producer

Some teams want to see every change once more before it goes public. So a producer can now require approval, per event.

Under Settings › Publishing, set “Who may publish?” to “Organisers and team request, producers approve”. From then on, organisers, programme organisers and editors click “Request publication” instead of “Publish”. Each event has at most one open request, and later changes are added to it.

You get a notification in the bell and a notice on the event’s dashboard. “Review” shows you the open changes. “Accept and publish” takes everything open live, “Decline” turns the request down, with a reason if you want to give one. If something changed after the request, the dialogue tells you before you accept. Earlier requests are in the “Approval history”.

Approval is off by default. Taking content offline stays direct, and as a producer you keep publishing directly yourself.
