My appearance for speakers
Your home page as a speaker in an event, with everything you should do before your appearance and everything you need to know for it.
If you are invited to an event as a speaker, “My appearance” is your home page. When you open the event, you land straight on it. One page shows you what is still to do and when and where you are on. The programme page with all its details is still there, but you no longer have to search through it.
What you find in the sidebar
As a speaker, the sidebar shows you two entries: My appearance and My profile. If you also moderate a programme item, the entries for moderation requests and briefings are added. The keyboard shortcut g then t takes you back to “My appearance” from anywhere in the event.
The intro on your first visit
On your first visit, a short three-step intro explains what it is all about, each step with a small animation:
- Your speaker profile: photo, bio, position and organisation appear on the event website. More under Your speaker profile.
- Upload your presentation: slides, films and notes for each programme item. No USB sticks on site. More under Uploading presentations.
- Everything about your appearance: time, stage, running order and on-site contact.
“More info” opens the matching help page, “Go to My appearance” closes the intro. The intro appears only once; however you close it, it does not come back on your next visit.
Progress and tasks
At the top, the page greets you by name. Next to it, a bar shows how far you have got, for example “1 of 4 done”. The AI question only counts while it is still open. Below are your tasks in this order, each with the status “Open” or “Done”:
- Your profile on the website: done as soon as your photo and bio are there. Only what you let the website show counts: if you have hidden your photo, it is not missing either. “Edit” takes you to “My profile”. Once the event website is online, you see a preview of your profile here in the website’s look. If something is missing, fill it in straight away with “+ Photo” or “+ Bio”. Everything else is under Your speaker profile.
- Allow an AI summary of your contribution? This question appears only if at least one of your programmes can be analysed with AI, and only until you have answered it. Below a short explanation you choose “Allow AI” or “Decline AI”. The task then disappears from “My appearance”; you see and change your choice under “My profile” in the “AI analysis” section. What is behind it is explained on AI & transcription.
- One card per programme: done as soon as you have uploaded at least one file or chosen “I have no presentation”.
The programme card
Under the heading “Your programmes” there is a card for every programme you appear in. All cards start collapsed; you still see time, stage and status. Click a card’s title to open it. Small chips at the top sum up the essentials: your role (Speaker or Moderator), date and time, the stage, “Your slot” with the time of your own agenda item, whether you take part on site or virtually, and “Confirmed” once the team has confirmed your participation.
In the card you find:
- Presentation (optional): one row with “Upload” for each of your own agenda items. How it works and what is allowed is under Uploading presentations.
- Schedule: every agenda item of the programme with its time; yours are marked “You”.
- For your information: collapsed, with the on-site contact, other speakers, the programme description and, if planned, interpretation.
- View full programme: opens the complete programme page. You can read everything there but not edit it.
Moderation requests and briefings are not on this page; they stay in their own areas of the sidebar.
